Digital Photographs

Breed (2020) is a series of digital photographs which consider and criticize the fetishization of multiracial children. These works are meant to portray and therefore challenge the objectification of mixed-race children as beautiful things. Within the obsession with beautiful and exotic multiracial children is the selective process of accepting or denying certain features as desirable. In this series, I separated the desirable and undesirable parts of fruit and made new compositions with them to mimic how people treat the creation of beautiful multiracial “objects.”
